CS for Success: Fitting CS in Your Schedule

August 2nd, 2023, 12-4 pm | Sheridan College

This professional development will share strategies and best practices for onboarding computer science coursework or integrating CS concepts into preexisting classes to provide K-12 students with access to high-quality CS experiences.

Participants will:

  • Understand why CS education is relevant and valuable to your students, particularly as it relates to computing education mandates in Wyoming
  • Review the computational thinking process and how it can be applied across content areas as a problem-solving strategy
  • Learn how to unpack and apply the CS standards across content areas and grade bands
  • Create a sample schedule or course sequence that models practical implementation methods for CS experiences relevant to your students
  • Review contingency planning as it relates to CS scheduling
